Maevi grew up in County Antrim on the coast of Northern Ireland on ancient ground somewhere between 56 - 66 million years ago, Antrim was subject to an intense ancient volcanic fissure eruption, after the hot lava flowed hexagon rocks formed along the coastline, the area was marked with large stone columns.

Maevi used to frequent the rocks with her familiar, playing hopscotch on the multisided rock formations. There had been heavy torrential rains and gale force winds the previous evening. Puddles had formed in the concave of the rocks, Meavi looked down in amusement at her wavy, rainbow, infused reflection. It was a wild and wet September day, Jack her loyal companion followed close as she hopped and jumped between the rocks.

Unbeknownst to Maevi the wild horses of Camargue galloped towards the shoreline behind her, they rose up on their hind legs against the rocks edge, enormous waves drenched Maevi, she slipped and fell, as the sea retrieved back she was pulled sharply into the tumbling waves entangled between long tentacles of seaweed, sliding across the mossy rock. Jack her familiar frantically pacing back and forth. He barked at the sea.

Maevi had been knocked unconscious, and like the slow movement of an octopus arm she descended into the dark dank shadows of the sea…… to be continued. Words written by me.
