The Art of Je Ne Sais Quoi.

Costume Designs by Chocheng.

The ‘Art of Je Ne Sais Quoi’ is a fashion film inspired by the experimental style of French New Wave Cinema and icon Anna Karina. The film is an exploration of the ‘golden ratio’, challenging the classic and modern ideals surrounding femininity, social etiquette, and beauty in western culture.

The Art of Je Ne Sais Quoi features bespoke costume designs by CHOCHENG from his spring/summer 2015 collection and a cast led by Misha Hart, with performances choreographed by Alec Mann accompanied by mid-century modern style illustrations by Velwyn Vossy and an original soundtrack by Gemma Barron and Whitebox. The film is set in an abstract landscape created by set designer Fred Allsop and shot through a 1960’s filtered Hockney-esque lens by cinematographer Luke Palmer. Through the expressive art form of Beat poetry, the film captures the precise moment at which Belle, played by Hart flourishes into a young woman, defining beauty on her own terms, from the realms of a woman’s multifaceted diverse interior rather than the exterior of the female form.
